'Harry Potter' At The MTV Movie Awards: Experts Weigh In

'I'm a little nervous for 'Harry Potter,' ' says one analyst, noting that 'Deathly Hallows, Part 2' is up against 'Hunger Games' and latest 'Twilight.'

Eight films. Seven books. And now, at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, the magic number is six for "Harry Potter" fans: That's the amount of nominations earned by the final film in the epic fantasy series, "Deathly Hallows, Part 2." As the grand "Potter" finale, "Deathly Hallows" represents the last opportunity for wizards and witches alike to band together and win the elusive Movie of the Year award, among other statuettes — but the battle won't be easy for fans, according to the experts.

"I'm a little nervous for 'Harry Potter' [at the Movie Awards]," Hypable.com's Andrew Sims told MTV News about the nominations. "This is the only year that 'The Hunger Games,' 'Twilight' and 'Harry Potter' are all competing, in some cases head-to-head."

Indeed, those three massive franchises are going up against each other — all three are nominated for Movie of the Year and Best Kiss — though many believe the real showdown will be between "Hunger Games" and "Potter," particularly in the Best Female Performance race. That category includes both Jennifer Lawrence as girl-on-fire Katniss Everdeen and Emma Watson as brilliant witch Hermione Granger, and it's bound to be an epic showdown.

"It's going to be tough because Katniss is such a strong female lead, and people are obsessed with her strength and her character," said Julia Hodges of DanRadcliffe.com and RupertGrint.net. "But we have a history with Hermione. Maybe people will really acknowledge her for all of the amazing work."

Daniel Radcliffe's footing in the Best Male Performance race is a bit more certain according to "Potter" fans who refuse to believe the Boy Who Lived won't be rewarded for eight excellent movies.

"I think Daniel Radcliffe has this one locked up. When you look at that list, they're all fabulous," said LeakyNews.com's Melissa Anelli of Radcliffe's competition, which includes "Hunger Games" star Josh Hutcherson. "I especially love ['Drive' star] — I think he does fantastic work there. But I do think it's a clear win for Radcliffe."

"His acting in these 'Harry Potter' films just got better and better over time," Sims agreed. "And of course in this final film, where Harry has to sacrifice himself, it was such a huge moment in the series, and every fan connected with Harry in that moment."

Even if Radcliffe and Watson don't pull out individual wins, the "Potter" experts we spoke with said they'd be stunned if "Deathly Hallows" doesn't take home the Best Cast award.

"This is definitely the award I feel most confident about for 'Potter,' " Hodges said. "We have not only Harry, Ron and Hermione — Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson — but also Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith and all of these lead stars who really bring together the entire cast. It's more than just the trio. It's the entire whole."

"When I look at this list, I think 'Harry Potter' really does have this one," Anelli added. "The cast is so large and layered and talented. It was like the end of a symphony with this film."

But even as it approaches its last shot at Golden Popcorn glory, "Potter" can't count on nostalgia alone, especially when "there's a new 'Twilight' film and a new 'Hunger Games' film on the horizon, whereas there are [no more movies] for 'Harry Potter,' " Sims said.

"I think it still has a good shot because it's huge and always will be," he added. "But there are other fandoms knocking — very vibrant fandoms, who are definitely going to give it some tough competition."

Hudson's sister to 911: 'Please help my mama'

Julia Hudson's 911 call was released Monday.

The dramatic and heartbreaking 911 call placed by Jennifer Hudson's sister upon finding the body of her mother has been released.

And it's exactly as gut-wrenchingly devastating and emotional as you would imagine.

The call was released this morning on the ruling of Judge Charles Burns, and against the plea by the prosecution not to do so.

"Help, please," Jennifer's sister Julia Hudson is heard telling the 911 operator. "Oh, God. Somebody's killed my mother, somebody's killed my mother...Please help me. Oh my God, oh my God."

When asked by the dispatcher if she needed an ambulance, a near-hysterical Hudson replied, "I don't know. I'm scared...please...please...can you please send an ambulance, please. Oh my God.

"She's on the floor and I see blood coming from her head...I just came home from work and there's a bullet hole in our front door...she's 57 years old. Please help my mama. Please just send an ambulance," Julia says.

Toward the end of the three-minute call, while still on hold with the dispatcher, Julia can be heard speaking again, ostensibly to a neighbor.

"Where's my brother? What happened? She's on the floor...I'm here by myself."

The call then cuts off. (Listen to the call on E! Online.)

The prosecution was opposed to the call being released, arguing on Friday that it had not yet been fully placed into evidence.

"To ensure the state's right to a fair trial and the defendant's right to a fair trial, we object at this time to releasing the 911 call," state attorney Jennifer Bagby argued Friday.

To no avail, as it turned out.

-Create a fun tabletop spread with an eye-catching centerpiece, candles, and placemats to bring out the inner host and hostess in all of your prospects.

-Don?t skip flowering plants, which make everything a little bit nicer!

Getting the right Bird Cage

A cage is the most important piece of equipment you will need to buy for your new bird. The proper cage can help your bird stay healthy and safe. There are so many types of cages, choosing the right one can be hard for the new bird keeper.. How do you choose the right one?

First, consider the species of bird you intending to keep. If you want to have any type of parakeet, cockatiel or another long tailed bird species, you will need a long cage so that your bird can get plenty of exercise. Ideally, the cage should be long enough so the bird can actually fly from one side to the other. A bird with a stocky body, such as a lovebird or a Senegal parrot, gets plenty of exercise by climbing around in the cage. These birds do well in a cage that is taller than it is wide.

You should then consider the size of the cage. While usually you should plan to buy the biggest cage you can afford for your bird, a newly weaned handfed baby bird may feel lost and frightened in a large cage. A young bird also may have trouble locating food and water dishes. If you can afford to do so, it is a good idea to buy a small cage for your baby bird?s first few months and switch it to a larger cage when it is older.

Another thing to keep in mind when you are selecting your bird?s cage is the spacing between the cage bars. A great looking ?400 cage isn?t very useful if your bird can fit through the bars! If you are thinking about using a cage with wire mesh, you should compare the size of the hole in the mesh with the size of your bird?s head before you make your selection. A cage made with one inch mesh is just the right size for a cockatiel to stick a head through. Instead of pulling their heads back in through the same hole, cockatiels have been known to bend their necks into a ?U? shape and stick their heads into a different hole.

Once you have decided on the cage size and bar spacing, you should consider a few other aspects of bird cage design. Take a look at the cage tray. When you pull it out to clean it, is there a grate in the cage to keep the bird from escaping? Is the tray deep enough to catch most of the mess your bird makes? Even if the cage has a deep tray, you still may find that your bird scatters a lot of seed hulls and feathers on the floor if there is no cage apron. While you can place your cage in a plastic apron base or cover the bottom of the cage with a cloth apron, a built in metal apron is a nice feature.

Finally, don?t forget to take a look at the cage cups. There should be a way for you to easily access the cups without reaching into the cage through the main door. If you are buying a cage for a bigger bird, the cups should actually bolt to the cage unless you want to spend every morning and afternoon for the next 50 years reaching for cups that your bird has tossed onto the bottom of the cage.

If you a replacing a cage for an older parrot type bird, some owners have told me it is important to get a cage of a similar colour. They believe that a bird that has been used to a white painted cage, won?t adapt easily to a metal coloured cage.
